Fairy Gone (Episode 1) - Ash Covered Girl

The show starts off with a with an unknown female voice talking about the war, called the War of Unification, that happened 24 years ago (U.E. 481). During this war you find out that a weapon was created and these weapons become apart of people and they are called "Fairy Soldiers". Fairy soldiers are people that have had surgery to fuse them with a fairy. There are either people, flesh and blood, fairy soldiers or artificial ones both fighting in the war. After finding out about the war that happened you are pulled to the fairy village of Suna, this is where you can find most faries living, and focuses on 2 little girls huddled together in the middle of all the villagers. Over all the commotion happening you hear a man giving orders to burn the village to the ground, this man turns out to be Lay Dawn.

"People dissagree they fight. Even if it costs whats dear to them" - Unknown Women

This quote is saying when people dissagree with something they fight for what is right even if it costs them everything dear to them, this is further backed up by that facts that when Dawn ordered to burn down the village, you could hear some of the villagers screaming and running around and others fighting back against the soldiers, and yelling taht the village was also Dawns home to. It is then brought to the same little girls from the begginning. They are running in the forest and the little girl trips while the older one helps her up, and them running off into the distance.

It then fades and you hear a new voice, an unknown man. This man is talking about how it was like to be in the war. And shows Ledrad, which is in the final stage of the War of Unification.

"The rain will always stop eventually, everything has an end, but sometimes the end comes to late" - Unknown Man

This is saying that even though the war is over, and that it was meant to come to an end, that sometimes the damage is done and it is to late, this might be foreshadowing something that has yet to be shown. It can be assumed that something bad has happened cause it focuses on on 2 men, and one of them seems angery cause they throw a sword and one is quiet. The 2 men then get into an argument and one leaves, while the others watches them fade into the fog.

It is then said that the war was ended because his magesty surrenders and that marks the end of the war. The unknown man also adds that the War of Unification was over on paper, or at least thats what people thought. With the war over the fairy soliders were left with no where to go. The female voice then comes in and days that it is time to start over.

The screen then fades to black and then a time skip happens brining us to the preset (U.E. 505), and to a place called Funzan, which was the former territory of Kal-o. There is talk about an auction happening, this is confirmed when the camera shoes a girl in whats looks to be a bakc room of some sorts with a bunch of strange looking things. It is then found out that the women is not suppose to be back there when she is confronted by a man, that looks a lot like the unknown man from Ledrad.

The mans name is Free and the womens name is Marlya, they had to repeat their names to each other cause both of them werent paying attention during introductions. It is then stated that Free is the head of sercurity and the Marlya is just sercurity and that they are not suppose to be back there. Free then finds out the Marlya is apart of Kokolo family as an underling, and why she carries around a hunting rifle, and she says that it is the weapon that she is the most accusomed to.

Marlya becomes fasonated by all the items being auctioned off, and Free goes on to tell her all about them and what they are. This is also where you find out that a page that was taken from the Black Fairy Tome is being auctioned off. Another item that is being auctioned off is a Fairy Bottle full of fairies. A fairy bottle is a bottle that can let people see fairies, cause they can not be seen by normal people without the help of the bottle. While talking one of the fairies escapes and Free assumes that Marlya left the door to the cage open. While trying to catch the critter that escaped they hear comotion happening outside.

You are then taken back a little, so you can see what the comotion was and what caused it. It is where you see the auction happening and the page is what is currently being autioned. The camera zooms in on the side of the stage where a figure is. This figure emerges and fights one of the sercurity guards and cuts him. When he gets cut he starts to fill with black smoke and dies, but something strange happens, there is balck liquid coming out of his eyes, ears, and mouth.

You then find out that this figure is a women and she jumps on the podium and grabs the page cutting and killing another sercurity guard the same way as the other. Free and Marlya finally arrive and Free confronts the women while Marlya stays back, and recogizes the women as Veronica. It is then shown that the thing that killed both men was a fairy and that the mysterious women is a fairy soldier. Marlya tries to stop them from fighting but Veronica and Free still continue to fight. Free then lets out his fairy to "even the odds".

Marlya tries to stop them again, and Veronica has a chance to escape and they chase after her. The sercurity then starts to fire into the crowd and Free yells at them to stop shooting cause they miht hit someone. One of these men shots almost hits a fairy on a fairy bottle and Marlya jumps in front of it to save it. The fairy is let out of the bottle and to Frees suprise she can see them without the bottle. The fairy that she saved fuses with her and she becomes a fairy soldier as well.

Marlya is then brought back to the forest where you see more of that happened in the beginning. But you also find out the Veronica was the other little girl along with Marlya and that she vowed to get revenge on Lay Dawn, for her village, and then she leaves Marlya all alone in the woods. Marlya then wakes up all alone, and runs outside to find Veronica and Free still fighting.

Free is confused as to how Veronica had gotten her hands on a fairy because fairies are dangerous and illegal to have. Marlya again tries to stop them from fighting, by shooting at Free`s feet. Once they stop she says that she has been searching for Veronica for years and even joined the mafia so she could look and asks veronica to go with her, which in trun Veronica refuses, why that the fight continues.

Marlya again steps in and tries to break up the fight, but this time she uses her fairy, suprising both Veronica and Free. Her fairy burns the arms of both their fairies and also them. Veronica flees in the confusion that Marlya has set out, and she also finds out that Free had infeltrated the auction, for his group, Dorathea, Government Dog, and asks her if she wants to join since now she has fused with a fairy.

The post credits show Veronica bringing the page that she stole to someone and them saying that the page is a fake and Veronica whispering Marlya and thinking back to when they were young.

My Thougts on Episode 1:

So my thoughts so far are that Marlya is kinda stuck up like she asks Veronica to drop everything, and forget all her anger towards one man for burning down her village, killing faries and probably people as well just so she can have her back with her, and dont get me wrong I understand where shes coming from but seriously.

And then her and Free have this thing about the names and it bugs me cause it seemed like they tried to make her into a character that contained a hole bunch of other charaters in one.

They also have names of places and things that I dont really remember, even though it was written in my notes I had to go back to the anime to make sure I had it written down correctly, but thats almost all animes, so I wont hold it against them.

But dont get me wrong the show pulled me in to the story that it ws trying to tell and it is a different kind of story.
